  2. WHAT IS AR? • Referrals given to the agency for assessment. • Read the referrals and decide whether you would screen this in or out • If the referral is a screened in report, would you send the report for AR or TR

Criteria for Alternative Response • Case Mapping • Screened-in report of child abuse or neglect. • Pathway assignment screening of report. • Any report screened-in as a sexual abuse, hospitalization of a child as a result of abuse or neglect or death of a child by other then accidental means would receive a traditional approach and/or investigation and is not considered for Alternative Response.
