INSTASC Standards: Application of Content Standard 5: The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issue. Rationale: When it comes down to be a teacher you have to understand different circumstance. You have relate information that you teach to the kids to real life in order for them to understand.

  3. Background Info Bullying is define as unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.

  4. Bullying The term bullying has been around since 1693. Bullying is a big problem in schools. 1 and 4 students are bullied. There are different types of bullying like: • Physical Bullying: It occurs when kids use physical actions to gain power and control the other child. • Verbal Bullying: Perpetrators of verbal bullying use words, statements and name calling • Relational Aggression: A sneaky and insidious type of bullying that often goes unnoticed by parents and teacher. • Cyber Bullying: When a teen uses the internet, cell phone or other technology to harass, threaten and embarrass a person.

  5. P.r.o.s There are no pros on bullying. Bully is not acceptable on no level. We should treat people the way you want to be treated.

  7. Discussion How would you feel if you witness bullying? What would your reaction? A: A lot of people talked about they would tell an adult or even try intervene. They also would try to be friends with the person that is getting bully and suggest counseling.

  8. Discussion What do you think America should do about bullying? A: Everyone think it should be crime. People should go to jail and other law enforcement. They also think schools should do a better job on looking and see bullies.
