  2. Overview • How prepare for the process of observing and being observed. We need to know the framework • How we manage the actual observation. • How do we manage CIITS and EDS? • How do we secure our work • What do we get or see when the observation details are recorded, saved and shared? • How do we structure and manage the pre and post conferencing? • Do we have preconference? Why or why not? How do they work? • What happens in the post conference? Do we record a performance level before or after the post conference? Why? • How does this feel? Does it feel different from the former observation system? How can it make us better at what we do? • What do you think about the peer observation process?

What is the framework? • Consider the FfT when we plan and deliver the lessons and observers need to know what we are looking for • Test  - Teachscape • Not content or grade specific • Exemplary – student centered • Turning over control

  5. How do we manage CIITS and EDS? Copy and paste, cut and paste, retype everything? • Different techniques can be tried, it will be a personal preference • Excel

  6. How do we secure our work? Do we back our material up in Word or an email so we don’t lose it if CIITS / EDS goes funny? • Save and save some more • Different venues • Flash Drive, laptop, email

  9. How do we structure and manage the pre and post conferencing? Pre-conference • Short, informal lesson plan, and preconference questions Post-conference • Sit down to discuss each standard • Scores are already recorded, but can be changed during the discussion

  11. Peer Observations? Who do you think should do peer observations? • Stepping outside your content • Stepping outside your grade level What difference can a peer observation make? • New perspective on prior knowledge • Cross content collaboration leads to continuity for students

  12. Summary of Evidence? Summative • Under the Summary of Evidence tab in CIITS you will add your final rankings for each teacher and submit. • Here is an example of what it looks like for High School.
