  4. Start and End Times • School begins at 8:45. The first bell will ring at 8:40. • Each student attends 8 classes during the school day. • Freshmen athletic period for both girls and boys is 4th period. • The school day ends at 4:15.

  5. Class of 2016 – Freshman Year Welcome to High School • Student Activities (Homecoming, Retreats, etc…) • Driving a car (or hanging out with those who do) • More Freedom • More Responsibility • Standardized Testing for Graduation

  6. Lovejoy Mission Statement The aim of teaching and learning at Lovejoy High School is to ensure academic success for each individual student. ----- Our ultimate aim is to develop young men and women so that they can personally realize the Lovejoy Graduate Profile.

The Freshmen Team Is Committed To.. • Time Management – Six Weeks and Unit Calendars, Homework • Organization – binders with dividers, assignments hole-punched, assignment sheets • Note-Taking – note-taking guides, text language, hot topics • Study Strategies – Reviews, Unit Outlines, Flashcards • Test-Taking Skills – based on type of test
