PLAC Cards • Issuing libraries must submit Quarterly Report Form, remit fees • Report loans on Annual Report • Borrower’s home library • # of items borrowed • Receive reimbursement for net loans • (Number of loans provided) – (Your patrons loans) • Lenders may choose to issue local library cards for tracking purposes.

  8. Statewide Reciprocal Borrowing • Allows registered users from participating libraries (160+) to borrow books (in person) from other participating libraries across the state. • No PLAC needed • Libraries wishing to participate should complete covenant and return to ISL

  9. Local Reciprocal Borrowing • Any 2 or more libraries may sign a local reciprocal borrowing covenant to allow only those libraries to participate in a reciprocal borrowing program. • Again, no PLAC needed

  10. Non-Resident Fees • For residents of areas not served by a public library that wish to obtain a library card. • Libraries charge $25.00 or the library’s expenditure per capita, if greater. (May be higher.) • E.g. Pittsboro, IN residents are currently unserved. • Brownsburg Public Library charges $85/year • Clayton Public Library charges $40/year • Since both are part of a Hendricks County local reciprocal agreement, patron can use any of 5 participating libraries.
