  2. Should you do Honours? • What is your GPA? • Why do you want an Honours degree? • Where are you now? Can you finish in a year?

  3. Where are you now? • Have you completed 84 credits? • If not, will you have by Sept? • Are you in Honours standing (5.0)? • If not, are you very close? • Have you completed your core requirements? • Statistics (2020 or 2021 & 2022) • Research Methods (2030) • 21/3100 and 22/3200 courses

  4. Do you have the prerequisites for 4000 level courses? • These must be completed BEFORE you begin a 4000 level course

  5. 4th year Psychology requirements • Research course (thesis) – 6 credits • Seminar courses 6 credits minimum; 12 credits maximum • Total of 18 4000-level credits; 12 must be in Psychology

  6. Seminar Courses - Prereqs Courses with one prerequisite: • Developmental Seminar (3 or 6 cr- PSYC 2110- • Atypical Development (6) - PSYC 2110 • Social Seminar (3 or 6 cr) - PSYC 2120 • Health Seminar (3 cr) - PSYC 3170 • Sensation/Perception Seminar (3) - 2220 • Seminar in Memory & Cognition - PSYC 3260 or 3265

Seminar Courses - Prereqs Courses with two prerequisites (Personality & Abnormal) • 4030 (6) Behaviour Modification & Behaviour Therapy- required for Humber program & York Seneca program- • 4040 (6) Rehabilitation Psychology- 4050 (6) Personality Theory & Behaviour Disorders- • 4060 (6) Counselling Psychology - required in York Seneca program- • 4061 (3) Theoretical Approaches to Counselling & Psychotherapy- • 4062 (3) Skills & Techniques in Counselling & Psychotherapy Courses with two prerequisites (Biological Basis & Abnormal) • 4080 Neuropsychology of abnormal behaviour

  8. Seminar Courses Courses with no Prerequisites: 4150 (6) Rigorous Alternatives • (6) Theories of Human Nature • 4890 (3 or 6) Independent Study

Research Course PSYC 4000, PSYC 4170 or PSYC 4175? - 4175 - community based research in class context- by application and involves interview- apprx 25 places - 4000 - requires a supervisor - must be full time faculty member in Psychology - 4170 - class - individual projects, but some classes involve some group work - typically also given in summer *** YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED STATS TO DO THESE COURSES - cannot be taken together****
