  4. American Airlines Flight 11 hijacked and crashed into northern façade of the North Tower 8:46 A.M. Between 93rd and 99th floors

  5. “Don’t do anything foolish. You are not going to get hurt. We have more planes. We have other planes.”

  6. The Second Plane • United Airlines, 757, Flight 175 • Boston’s Logan Airport at 08:14 to L.A. / 65 People • Hijackers took control of the plane and, at 09:03, rammed it into the South Tower at about the 80th floor.

  7. United Airlines Flight 175- 17 minutes later went into South Tower, between 77th and 85th floors Damage caused to the North Tower by Flight 11 would not allow means of escape, trapped 1,344 people

  8. After Flight 175- a staircase was still available to the people to pass through, but not many were able to actually get through South Tower- less than 700 either trapped or killed at that point

  9. 9:59 A.M.- South Tower collapsed after burning for 56 minutes 10:28 A.M.- North Tower collapsed- had burned for 102 minutes 5:20 P.M.- 7 World Trade Center collapsed

  10. 3 World Trade Center- destroyed during collapse of towers Three remaining buildings needed to be demolished

  11. Cantor Fitzgerald L.P. (an investment bank)- 101st- 105th floors of 1 WTC- lost 658 employees Marsh & McLennan Companies-floors 93-101 (where Flight 11 impacted) lost 295 employees

  12. New York City Firefighters- 343 deaths Port Authority employees- 84 deaths Port Authority Police Department- 37 deaths

  13. New York City Police Department officers- 23 deaths Only 20 people survived the collapse
