REPATRIATION: IF DEATH OCCURS OVERSEAS •If a death occurs in a foreign country, a Death Certificate must be obtained from that country •The Singapore Embassy/ Representative office in that country will issue the repatriation documents •A Consignor (usually a funeral home in the exporting country) will assist in the repatriation arrangements •ALL SAINTS can be appointed the Consignee in Singapore to receive the remains and to provide all the subsequent arrangements and services •Call ALL SAINTS at anytime for assistance.

  4. A. SINGAPORE CITIZENS / PERMANENT RESIDENTS For Cremation or Burial The body of a Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident may be brought back to Singapore for cremation or burial. However, a Coffin (Import) Permit is required to import a body into Singapore. Death Registration The death will also have to be reported to Singapore 's Registry of Births & Deaths, Citizen Centre, 3rd Storey, ICA Building personally by the next-of-kin of the deceased.

  5. B. FOREIGN NATIONALS For Cremation • Foreigners are allowed to be imported into Singapore for cremation. • A Permit to Cremate will also be issued together with the Coffin (Import) Permit. For Burial • Foreigners are allowed to be imported into Singapore for burial only if the immediate next-of-kin is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. • A Coffin (Import) Permit is required to import a body into Singapore.

You may contact a Funeral Director from All Saints Bereavement Care to assist you with the steps below: PROCEDURE Once in possession of a Death Certificate a non-Singaporean should register the death with their respective Embassy or High Commission. Repatriation of a body to a home country requires the help of the relevant local embassy or consulate.
