Body There finger nails are so thick that they don’t break. Aardvarks have really long tongues. An adult Aardvarks’ tongue is about 1 foot ( 30 centimeters long .) Aardvarks have claws that are like mini shovels at the end of each finger. They use their claws to bust into termite mounds. Aardvarks have a long snout. Their ears look like rabbit ears. Aardvarks weigh between 88 and 143 pounds (40-65 kilograms.
Food Aardvarks love to eat ants and termites.
Fun Facts Aardvarks are the best diggers in the world. Aardvarks are nocturnal. The African elephant is the relative of the Aardvark. Aardvarks live by themselves. ( Not in herds.) The Aardvarks nickname is earth pig. Aardvarks can close their nostrils.
Habitat Aardvarks are found all over Africa. They are found in deserts , grasslands and rain forests. They also live in burrows in Africa.
Life cycle Aardvarks mate in spring or summer. Females have one pup 7 months later. The baby aardvark stays with its mother at least 6 months. Aardvarks live up to 10 years in zoos but in the wild, it is 10 years too.
