CIM Annual Reports 2018: Promoting Gender Equality and Women's Rights in the Americas

This report highlights the operational framework, strategic initiatives, and capacity-building efforts of the CIM in promoting gender equality and women's rights in the Americas. It includes the adoption of key declarations, programs, and plans, as well as the institutionalization of a human rights and gender equality approach in the work of the OAS. Annual report on the implementation of the IAP (CIM/doc.141/19) • 15 entities (54% of the total) have specific mandate (s) to advance gender equality and women's rights in their area of work • 27 entities have a strategy to integrate gender equality and rights perspectives in their activities • 19 entities (53% of the total) act as Secretariat of nter-American committees / commissions/ meetings that addresses the issue of gender equality and women's rights • 30 entities (57% of the total) have a policy (ies), program (s) and / or project (s) that promote gender equality and women's rights • 21 entities (62% of the total) have the technical capacity to implement the gender and women's rights perspective • Of the departments of the GS/OAS and Autonomous and Decentralized Bodies that responded to the questionnaire, 22 indicated that they promoted the integration of women's rights and/or the gender perspective in their reports during the period • Most of the entities stated that they would like to continue counting on the support and technical advice and training provided by the CIM / OAS to advance the implementation of the PIA
