  3. OverVIEW • Star Wars: The Old Republic is a free to play online MMORPG • Based in the Star Wars universe • Developed by Bioware, EA Games and Lucasarts • Cost around $200 million to develop • Released in December of 2011

Gameplayplot • Choose your side/class • Story starts with the Sith attacking the Republic and starting a war with the Jedi • Recently reestablished a Sith academy on Korriban • Depending on the side and class you pick each story is different. For Jedi and Sith, the story starts with you arriving at the respective academies as a padawan. • More missions you do, the faster you level up and more abilities you gain. • Each character has a choice with most missions which will decide if you are more Dark Side aligned or “Light” Side aligned.

Online Community • On the website there is blogs and forums for people to chat, make friends and form groups to play in PVP (player vs player) games and worlds. • Friends can also help you in PVE games (player vs computer based opponents). • Can chat in games with other players via chat boxes and speech.
