The damage occurs when the stone hits the asphalt shingle & loosens the glue that holds the granules to the shingle. Once this happens your roof can deteriorate in as little time as 1 or 2 years. Hail will also devalue your house. You only have 2 years from the hail storm that occurred to make a claim with your insurance company.
