  1. DINA - A LIFE TRANSFORMED IN GB TANZANIA(Winner of GB International competition 2014)

  2. Dina was born in the village of Kunzugu in 1995, the 8th of 9 children in her family.

  3. Dina was enrolled in the local primary school, but due to poor health was forced to drop out and so was never able to read and write.

  4. In 2010 she joined the local Anglican Church. When a GB Company began, Dina soon became a keen member. Although she could not read or write, she was welcomed and able to join in all the activities. Dina received Jesus as her Saviour and was baptised.

  5. As a Senior and Brigader she learned many important life lessons.

  6. In 2013 she was accepted as a student at the Girls’ Brigade Sewing and Handcraft Centre in Bunda. It was a wonderful opportunity for Dina to be part of a school community. She showed aptitude for sewing and developed her skills there as well as improving her reading and writing ability and growing in her faith in Jesus.

  8. Her Graduation was a proud day for Dina’s family. She was awarded the prize for good progress.

  9. Dina was welcomed back home on completion of her course.

  10. Dina received a grant to enable her to acquire a sewing machine. GB Centre teacher Christina was encouraged when she visited Dina to see the garments she was making for her customers.

  11. On 15/6/14 the GB Kunzugu Company was registered. Dina received her certificate as an Officer of this new Company.

  12. We are all very happy to hear of Dina’s engagement to be married to YohanaKusekwe, a Form 4 graduate, a Boys’ Brigade Leader, and this year studying at the Boys’ Brigade Vocational Training Centre where he is learning carpentry skills.

  13. Dina and Yohana

  14. Dina is thankful to God for the way GB has transformed her life, helped her grow in her faith and stand firm in Jesus, given her an education, an income generating business, a ministry in the GB Company in her church and prepared her for marriage to Yohana, who also loves the Lord Jesus.
