Established in 1911, the Department of Organic Chemistry boasts 8 faculty members, 55 Ph.D. students, and 20 supporting staff. With over 50 publications annually, our research is supported by various projects from DST, DBT, CSIR, and UGC. Our advanced facilities include NMR, Mass, and UV/IR spectrometers, as well as GC, HPLC, and automated C/H/N analyzers. Recognized for excellence with five Bhatnagar Awardees and multiple national fellows, we focus on a diverse range of research, including natural product synthesis, molecular materials, and chemical biology.
