  1. Reasons why you should not worry about your college GPA…

  2. This is a post everyone must read, because everyone has had at least one or two bad semesters. Sometimes, people go overboard and don’t think small mistakes can be fixed, even though most times it is not that tough to show MBA admissions committee how bright you truly are.

  3.  What’s the trend:  Were you weak freshman year but getting straight A’s in senior year? If this is your story, don’t worry too much because you showed how you can learn from a mistake and grow from the experience. If you were on a downward trend, this is more concerning because it might seem to the admission committee that you could not handle some of the harder courses (barring an unforeseen circumstance like ill health.

  4. Of course there are ways to fix this later in the article. What about someone who just never aced college? There’s hope for you too, read on! 2)  Brush-up classes: The best thing to do is to take your transcript and figure out which areas were weak. Did you not master math classes or economics classes?

  5. If that was a weak spot, try to take classes at local schools to show in an additional transcript that you can handle the work and have matured. Make sure to get A’s if you try this! 3) Time Well Spent in School:

  6. If you were really involved outside of school, this might make an interesting side essay to explain it. Talk about big accomplishments during and after colleges because of those out of classroom experiences. This could really help you stand out in a pile of applications. If classes are not feasible because you are busy, try to show a varied skill set in community service opportunities, leadership at work, and in your essays on experience. Sometimes bad transcripts can be overlooked because you have grown from your early twenties. 4) Strengths in other Places:

  7. 5) Online Courses • Sometimes showing your talent does not mean being like everybody else. • Maybe you just don’t like book learning and professors. • Try online courses that are self-study. • Use these to get ahead and show your talent. • If you can get a certificate, that is fantastic.

  8. If you can’t, try to do something with that knowledge, write a blog, read more books and become an expert. MBA programs love people who found something exciting and pursued it. From photography to tax accounting rules, anything you love is something you can become an expert in and a great way to get MBA programs excited about you!
