To work on your communication skills of presentation and active listening.

They use imagery that conveys a literal or abstract representation of your organization. Symbols are less direct than straight text, leaving room for broader interpretation of what the organization represents. In order for a symbol to be a truly effective logo it should be:

  8. What is art??? • You will define art individually for five minutes. This definition will be shared with your group. Your group will collectively redefine the definition to the come up with a SUPER Art definition to be shared with the entire class. • WE will discuss and take notes on a slideshow defining arts key concepts. • VIEW slideshow “What Is ART?”

  9. Activity: What is art? Objective: To understand & define ART • Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music and literature. • The meaning of art is explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.

Happy FRIDAY • Friday Bell work (To help you to use higher level thinking & build your communications skills.) • Respond to the question and turn in for credit ( At least 3 well written sentences): • When did you know what the artist was painting? Why do you think it took so long to figure it out? What do you think of Dan Dunn? Share SYMBOLIC objects Random Draw- Choose one object from the art room to draw in pencil. You are show casing your skill level with this project. You will have the remainder of the hour to finish but only the hour to finish.   12. Pop Art Pop Art was an art movement in the late 1950s and 1960s that reflected everyday life and common objects. Pop artists blurred the line between fine art and commercial art. Brillo Soap Pads Box, 1964,  AWF

  13. In the 1960s, Andy Warhol created several “mass-produced” images from photographs of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Jackie Onassis.   17. Intro To Contour Line Drawing • The Contour LINE • A contour is the line which defines a form or edge - an outline. Contour drawing is the place where most beginners start, following the visible edges of a shape. The contour describes the outermost edges of a form, as well as dramatic changes of plane within the form. 'Blind contour drawing' is when contour drawing is done without looking at the paper.

Christo & Jeanne Claude, The Gates “The Gates, Project for Central Park, New York City,” by husband-and-wife collaborators Christo and Jeanne-Claude, is a study of a large-scale installation project the couple envisioned. Known for enormous, ambitious environmental works, Christo created “The Gates” in Central Park with 7,500 saffron-hued fabric-draped, 16-feet tall gateways traversing 23 miles of park walkways. “The Gates” represent openings created in the park’s stone wall originally intended for steel-gate installation. This preparatory drawing of “The Gates,” which is a compelling artwork in its own right, is displayed in New York’s Guggenheim Museum.
