This project, led by Kevin Ginty from the University of Sunderland, focuses on developing a framework for incorporating research data metadata into CERIF, facilitating easier discovery and utilization of research datasets by organizations and researchers. Key achievements include the ongoing extension of CERIF to support research data metadata and collaboration with system providers to ensure accessibility across various institutions. The project also features IRIOS, a research information management tool that supports grant-output linkages and is CERIF compliant.

OVERVIEW • Develop frameworkfor incorporating research data metadata into CERIF to enable research organisations and researchers to more easily discover and utilise research datasets • Develop subject specific demonstrator in the area of marine sciences
ACHIEVEMENTS • Contributed to the extension of CERIF to support research data metadata (ongoing) • Worked with systems providers (including Pure and ePrints) to ensure results are available to as wide a range of institutions as possible (on going)
IRIOS • Research information management tool • Supports linking grants – outputs • CERIF compliant (import/export) • irios2.wordpress.com
ACHIEVEMENTS • Extended IRIOS to support:- • Storageof metadata via manual entry or CERIF import • Searchmetadata via ad-hoc queries or saved parameters • Linkmetadata to related grants • Exportmetadata to CERIF for use in CERIF-compliant systems
