  1. Rhode Island Teen Book Award Nominees 2014 Presented by: Aaron Coutu, Cumberland Public Library Committee Chair Brandi Kenyon, South Kingstown Public Library Committee Vice-Chair RILA Conference June 3, 2013

  2. What is the RI Teen Book Award? • The Award promotes quality literature for teens by highlighting well-written books of interest to middle and high school students. • Allowing teens to select the winner from each year's list of nominees encourages them to read more and discuss the books with their friends and family at school, the local library, and at home.

  3. How It Works • The Rhode Island Teen Book Award Committee is comprised of public librarians, teachers, reading specialists, library media specialists, and graduate students enrolled in the University of Rhode Island’s Library Science program • The committee meets from September through March, compiling the final list of nominees from titles suggested by committee members, publishers, authors, and others in the field • The committee reviewed 71titles this year
