  1. Technology Implementation Plan for Gaston Christian School for school years 2013-2018 Integrating cutting-edge technology at GCSto ensure high quality technology education for all GCS students equipping them for the technology-centered workplace of the future.

  2. Why this Technology Implementation Plan is needed at GCS The world is quickly becoming technology centered in all aspects of operation. In order for GCS to remain activate in equipping students for the workplace of tomorrow we need to be vigilant in the way we instruct IT related skills. This TIP will ensure GCS will be an institution that fosters rigorous technology training for all students who attend here, and graduate from our high school program. This TIP will help us secure the infrastructure and training needed to make this plan a reality.

  3. Strategic Goals for our Technology Implementation Plan Six core areas are essential for strong IT growth and competitive training at GCS, ultimately equipping our students for the workplace of the future: 1. Administration and faculty technology needs to effectively lead and operate GCS. 2. Student technology needs that effectively train the students for their future career. 3. Technology equipment costs and our strategic business partnerships to ensure we have the funding to effectively support IT growth at GCS.

  4. Strategic Goals for our TIP Continued Strategic goals for GCS continued: 4. Assessment of technology use ensuring we are being good stewards of equipment, and holding our students accountable to technology skills. 5. Equipment repair and maintenance needs need to be calculated to ensure we are looking towards future issues and IT needs as they arise. 6. Student accountability projects to ensure that our students are assessed and held accurately accountable to the technology training at GCS.

  5. How GCS will complete it’s five-year Technology Implementation Plan These strategies will help GCS accomplish the key goals of the technology implementation plan over the next five years: • Completion of the 1-to-1 device rollout so that all students have equal access to on-campus IT resources. • Bolstering the current PC labs, and integration of key pieces of special needs IT equipment. ie. Smart Tables. • Specific staff training from Apple certified personnel on using the iPad in class. • A continued commitment from our current IT business partners, and the acquisition of new IT business partners.

  6. How GCS will complete it’s five-year TIP continued • Having a focus on student assessment of technology skills from grades K-12 with yearly benchmark assessments, and yearly standardized test scores. • Students in high school must have 1 full year of IT credits to graduate from GCS. • Students are required to submit and pass an 11th and 12th grade IT cross-curricular project. • Requiring technology integration in all subject areas with a minimum focus of two lessons per quarter.
