  2. Mission The Universal Peace Federation is a global alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace, a world where everyone can live together in freedom, harmony, and cooperation and with prosperity for all.

  3. Purpose UPF brings together the efforts of many individuals andorganizations to build “One Family Under God.”

  6. Peace Education The President of UNESCO’s General Assembly at an International Leadership Conference (ILC)

  7. Peace Education Prime Minister RatnasiriWickramanayaka at the ILC co-hosted by the Parliament of Sri Lanka

  8. Peace Education The ILC presents UPF Peacebuilding Principles and provides opportunities for new networks.

  11. Interreligious Council at the UN • GOALS: • Draw on the wisdom and capabilities of religious traditions to address global problems. • Develop network of interfaith peacebuilders. • Create national and regional Interreligious Peace Councils.

  13. Middle East Peace Initiative • GOAL: • Promote understanding and reconciliation among Jews, Muslims, and Christians; • use the power of faith for peace. • METHODS: • Peace trips / fact-finding tours • Interreligious dialogues • Service projects • Programs in arts and sports

  14. Northeast Asia Peace Initiative • GOAL: • Peaceful reconciliation of the Korean peninsula METHODS: • Arts & cultural exchanges • Service programs • Peace Embassy in Pyongyang • Investment in N Korea

  15. South Asia Peace Initiative • GOALS: • End violence and promote stability in Nepal and Sri Lanka. METHODS: • Parliamentary leadership conferences • Interfaith dialogues • Service projects

  16. Africa Peace Initiative • GOAL: • Work with African nations to raise a new generation of leaders. METHODS: • Character education • Interfaith • Service • Sports

  17. Americas Peace Initiative • GOAL: • Promote better relations among the peoples, faiths and nations of the Americas. METHODS: • Leadership conferences • Global Peace Festivals • Service projects • Sports

  18. Bering Strait Peace Tunnel • GOAL: • A peacebuilding link for the entire world • METHODS: • Government/NGO/private partnerships • 52-mile tunnel linking Siberia and Alaska

  19. World Peace Blessing The Blessing affirms marriage and family and links families together as “One Family Under God.”

  26. Building a Culture of Service • GOALS: • Use service to transcend barriers and develop character. • Support UN Millennium Development Goals. • METHODS: • Bring together diverse people through service. • Offer disaster relief. • Build partnerships with NGOs, religious groups, and government.
