  1. Field Day A X Ω With your host: Liz Helms

  2. Hey! Read Me! • First things first, You all need to know all the rules to all of the games BEFORE Field Day, that way, there can be more time playing  Most of this should be review from elementary school… but pay attention, some new twists might have been invented!

  3. Here is a list of the activities we will be doing on Field Day, wait for the hand to appear when you hover over each, and click for a description Red Rover Dodgeball Egg Toss Dizzy Bat Race Parachute Fun Sponge Bucket Relay Tree Rock Bridge Potato Sack Race 3 Legged Race Balloon Popping Relay Done?

  4. Red Rover A team lines up on either side of the play area and links arms, the team as a whole decides who to call over from the other team. That person then runs at the calling team and tries to break through the barrier, if they don’t make it through, they have to join the team. • If they do make it through, they get to go back to their team and take a player with them. At the end, the team with all the players (or most, time permitting) WINS! Go Back

  5. Dodgeball H2O!!!! Everyone will have access to water balloons, you throw them at other people, If you get hit, you are OUT. The last dry person Wins! Go Back

  6. Egg Toss • Each team will split half n half and line up on either side of lines in the grass • The first person in each line will toss an egg to the first person on the other side. After you have thrown (and not dropped) the egg one half of your team moves back one row. • The thrower goes to the back of the line • This continues until every team drops their egg, and we have a winner. • You may keep throwing an egg if it is cracked as long as no insides leak out.

  7. Dizzy Bat Race • This is a relay game, each team lines up and one at a time, team members run down the field, spin around a bat 5 times, chug a sprite, spin around 5 more times and run back. The first team to finish wins!

  8. Parachute Fun • BALL IN THE BUCKET: Two plastic balls are placed on the parachute while held waist high. Each team tries to shake its ball into the centre pocket and keep the other team from putting its ball in the center pocket. A point is earned each time a team puts a ball in the pocket. • SHOE SHUFFLE: Number around the circle 1 to 6. All of one number remove a shoe and throw it under the canopy. On a count of 3 the canopy is lifted, mushroomed up on the third lift and all those missing a shoe go into the middle, retrieve their shoe and get back to their place.

  9. Sponge Bucket Relay • Each team stands in a line, the first person in line dips the sponge in a bucket of water, you pass it over your head, then between the legs of the next person, then over the heads etc, and the last person in line runs the sponge to an empty bucket, squeezes it out, and then redips it into the water bucket and you keep going til you fill the empty bucket to the fill line. First team to their line wins!

  10. Tree Rock Bridge Teams line up. The first person in the team runs out to the marked area and becomes a tree, the next person has to then run out, run around the tree and become a rock, the next person has to run around the tree and go over the rock and become a bridge. Then someone has to go around the tree over the rock and under the bridge and become a tree. You continue like this until you reach the end of the course.

  11. Potato Sack Race • You hop in a potato sack down the field, around, and back to your team where another teammate gets in the bag and does the same until everyone is finished. I think everyone has done one of these before, so I’m not making pretty little stars to show you how for this one 

  12. 3 Legged Race • The team breaks up into pairs of two, each member of the pair ties one leg together with one leg from the other member. You hobble/run/fall down the field and back and the next pair goes. Uneven team numbers will be addressed I think everyone has done one of these before, so I’m not making pretty little stars to show you how for this one either 

  13. Balloon Popping Relay • Run down the field, pop a balloon by sitting on it, run back, tag your teammate, they run down do the same. The first team with all its members to pop all the balloons Wins!
