  2. Road safety – a problem Bulgarian authorities are aware of • More than ½ of dead and injured in trafficaccidents in Bulgaria – due to speeding • MoI priority – organizing of automatic speed enforcement through technical solutions Speed enforcement devices

  3. So far – 25 stationary enforcement devices • Until 2014 – up to 174 • Long-term goal – up to 400 Speed enforcement devices

  4. Integrated Centre for Infringements Processing • Location data • Measured speed data • Vehicle data • Communication environment • MoI wireless network • Optical network • 3G cellular network Speed enforcement devices

  5. Faster reaction of the responsible structures (first medical aid, fire service, police) • Lowering fatal and crippling accidents Integrated approach

  6. EU Impact Assessment: „100% integration of eCall - ≈15% lessfatalities, ≈15% lessinjuries“ • 100% integration of eCallinBulgaria –100 less fatalities and 300 lessinjuries every year • Put into operation in compliance with the ETSI standards eCall will save lives

  7. Bulgaria participates along with 5 other countries in the extension of HeERO project – HeERO 2 • This project provides the opportunity for the preparation of: • The 112 Centre to receive and process eCallcalls • Cellular operators to transmit eCall calls through their networks eCall – MoI Priority

  8. Bulgaria has the necessary organizational and R&D capacity to achieve substantial results in the course of eCall introduction • Capability for integration with additional services – GPS ambulance navigation, traffic intensity information, etc. • Using a Bulgarian eCall device at an optimized price up to €50 eCall in the struggle for traffic safety

  9. eCallwill save lives The Strategic Goal: Until 2015 Bulgaria to take one of the leading positions in Europe in the struggle to save lives on the roads
