  1. Open Officer Positions Public Relations Marketing Chair Community Service Officer Newsletter Editor Fundraising Chair Activities Coordinator Historian

  2. Public Relations Officer • Promotes and advertises both the chapter and all AGS-sponsored events by speaking at other clubs, and coordinating such opportunities with DVC faculty and administration • Spreads awareness of AGS and strengthens the Chapter’s image • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  3. Marketing Chair • Creates promotional items such as flyers and banners in order to publicize AGS’s current activities and events • Hosts club tabling every week to aid in the Chapter’s presence on campus • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  4. Community Service Officer • Searches for various community service events that will be of interest to the Chapter • Conducts/oversees these community service events from beginning to end every month • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  5. Newsletter Editor • Publishes at least two newsletters per semester and chairs the Newsletter Committee • Writes and compiles articles relevant to AGS and other information, which will be of interest to the Chapter, to include in the newsletters • Prepare for and participate in the “Best Newsletter” competitions during AGS State Conferences • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  6. Fundraising Chair • Actively searches for fundraising opportunities that will increase the Chapter’s revenue • Conducts these fundraisers from beginning to end • Submits all required paperwork for approval of fundraising activities to SLO • Must record member participation in fundraising events • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  7. Activities Coordinator • Organizes all off-campus social activities for members • Submit all paperwork for approval of activities to SLO when necessary • Brainstorms icebreakers and games for AGS general meetings • Is in charge of planning end-of-semester activities (Spring banquet) • Assists the Executive Board in organizing and preparing for statewide events • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties

  8. Historian • Records and maintains a photographic record of the Gamma Psi Chapter and all of its activities; must regularly update the Instagram page and other social media platforms • Must be available to attend all AGS service and social events in order to create photo albums of all activities; must notify the executive board of any inability to attend an event • Coordinates with all relevant officers to successfully execute the aforementioned duties • Creates an end of the semester video montage to share with members

  10. Responsibilities If elected for leadership: • Attendance of all general meetings and statewide events • Officer Reports should be presented during every other meeting.

  11. Eligibility Members with a membership card are eligible to run for an Officer position. You must: • Only run for one position • Prepare a 2-3 minute speech delineating background and qualifications for office • Be prepared for questions and meeting with Executive Officers

  12. Terms of Office • Non-Executive Officers shall serve for one semester and may be re-elected for up to one additional term to the same office • In the event that no one runs for office, the Executive Board may appoint the officer position by invitation

  13. Nomination Process Put your name and position that you would like to run for on the sign up sheet. Positions will stay open for nominations until Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 by 4:29PM. You may also place your name on the list by emailing dvc.agsprez@gmail.com. Please state your name and the position for which you would like to run. Elections will take place on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 at 4:30PM.
