Background • Initially Proposed by NSGIC • NDOP tasked with establishing a Task Force to develop a business plan and budget strategy for a coordinated National imagery acquisition program • Federal Steering Committee members of NDOP, NSGIC, NACo (Kevin Neimond) and FGDC (Program Office) named as Task Force Leads

  3. November 22 Kick-Off • Clarification of NSGIC proposal • Discussion of Major Issues • Alternative Proposal Suggested • 1 Meter – USDA managed • 1 Foot – USGS managed • Alaska and Hawaii will have separate strategy • Identified Task Force and Set Goals

  4. Alternative Proposal • 1 Meter • Yearly Cycle • Leaf-on • Natural color • NAIP model/Best Value Contracting • 100% Federally Funded; issued to USDA • Governance Team Oversight

Alternative Proposal • 1 Foot • 3 Year Cycle • Leaf-off • All states east of Mississippi, counties over 25 people per square mile • 100% Federally Funded; issued to USGS • Governance Team Oversight • Optional 6 inch urban footprint and other areas on a cost share basis (80/20) or buy up from 1 foot and pay full upgrade • State Council has option of managing contract
