SHORT TERM GOALS • INTRODUCE AND ADOPT THE P-D-R-S METHOD (PLANNING, DOING, REVIEWING AND SHARING) IN THE VARIOUS ACTIVITIES INSIDE THE CLASSROOM THUS INCULCATING LIFELONG LEARNING AMONG THE STUDENTS • FOCUS ON STUDENT-CENTERED ACTIVITIES RATHER THAN TEACHER-CENTERED SO AS TO DEVELOP INDEPENDENT THINKING AMONG THE STUDENTS • HIGHLIGHT AND EMPHASIZE THE NEED FOR A MODERN CLASSROOM • ENCOURAGE THE STDUENTS TO USE THE INTERNET AND OTHER MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN THE COMPLETION OF THEIR TASKS

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS • I WILL GIVE INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS DURING THE 3 GRADING PERIODS IN MY ENGLISH CLASSES FOR THEM TO APPLY THE P-D-R-S APPROACH. • I WILL ASSIGN STUDENTS TO ACT AS TEACHERS IN THE CLASS TO DISCUSS THE LESSONS OR A PARTICULAR GRADING PERIOD THUS ENCOURAGING THEM TO BE MORE COMMUNICATIVELY COMPETENT AND INDEPENDENT.

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS • I WILL EXPOSE MY STUDENTS IN VARIOUS MULTI-MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES OF THE 21ST CENTURY THROUGH HANDS-ON AND VISITS IN DIFFERENT PLACES USING THOSE TECHNOLOGIES ENABLING THEM TO KNOW THE ADVANTAGES OF THESE TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLY IN THE PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES ASSIGNED TO THEM. • I WILL HELP THE STUDENTS ORGANIZE SPECIAL ACTIVITIES WITH LINKAGES/TIE-UPS WITH CLUBS OR OGANIZATIONS IN THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH SEMINARS WITH COMPETENT RESOURCE SPEAKERS WITH THE AIM OF UPDATING THE STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE ON THE BENEFITS OF MODERN TECHNOLOGIES.

SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATED CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS CHALLENGES • I WILL DISCUSS THE CONTENT OF THE INTEL SEMINAR TO THE VP OF CEU MAKATI TO CONVINCE HER OF THE NEED FOR A 21ST CENTURY CLASSROOM. • USING MY SKILLS IN WORDPROCESSING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS, WILL PREPARE A NEWSLETTER ENTITLED “THE MODERN ENGLISH COURIER” TO INFORM THE PARENTS OF OUR INITIAL ATTEMPTS TO MODERNIZE THE CLASSROOM. • I WILL MAKE AN ARRANGEMENT WITH THE SRMD REGARDING THE SCHEDULING OF THE CLASSROOM WITH COMPUTERS AS WELL AS THE MIAD IN THE AVAILABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS LAPTOPS, LCD AND THE LIKE. SHOULD THERE BE A NEED TO COORDINATE PERSONALLY TO THE AFFECTED PROFESSORS, I WILL NOT HESITATE TO DO SO. • I WILL COORDINATE WITH THE CEU MAKATI COMPUTER SOCIETY TO PROVIDE US WITH “BASIC COMPUTER OPERATIONS” SEMINAR TO HELP THE STUDENTS WITH NO OR LITTLE BACKGROUND IN COMPUTERS TO MINIMIZE THEIR FEARS REGARDING TECHNOLOGIES. • THE UNIVERSITY MAY SHOW RESISTANCE TO THE CONCEPT DUE TO THE LACK OF BUDGET • PARENTS MAY COMPLAIN DUE TO THEIR CHILDREN’S REQUEST OF BUYING EQUIPMENT OF THEIR OWN SUCH AS LAPTOPS OR DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO JOIN EDUCATIONAL TOURS • THERE ARE CLASSROOMS WITH LIMITED COMPUTERS AND OR LIMITED OR UNAVAILABLE EQUIPMENT • STUDENTS ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH INSUFFICIENT BACKGROUND IN COMPUTERS MIGHT HESITATE TO INVOLVE THEMSELVES IN THE ACTIVITIES

Sicat April 28, 2010 Volume 1, No. 1 • Next Week • BSMT2B shall persent a puppet show using an audio recording software • BSMT2A prepares to visit ABS-CBN • Speech Power President James Moderno to lecture on “The Importance of Multimedia Technology in Public Speaking on June 3, 2010 at the Student Activity Center from 8:00-12:00 noon • Last Week • 5 Predent Students from PD2A presented their research proposal in Com Skills 4 in Powerpoint and LCD • In Com Skills 3, Nyka Cadayona of PD2A reported the weather update using the Windows Movie Maker • Students from BSP2A recorded their choral recitation entitled, “The Anatomy of Being a Filipino” using a Videocam It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.  ~Albert Einstein Basic Computer Operations Seminar May 5, 2010 Student Activity Center, CEU GP Campus 8:00-12:00 Noon Organized by the CEU Makati Computer Society The MODERN ENGLISH COURIER….The Official Newsletter or Mr. Alvin S. TIMELINE ON THE FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH, I WILL COORDINATE WITH THE ADVISER OF THE CEU MAKATI COMPUTER SOCIETY CLUB TO ORGANIZE A SEMINAR ON THE BASIC COMPUTER OPERATIONS TO BE HELD ON THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST. FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ENGLISH CLASSES FROM CLASSICAL TO MODERN PICTURE; MONITORING INCLUDED AUGUST JUNE JULY SEPTEMBER ON THE FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH, I WILL TALK TO THE VP FOR CEU MAKATI TO DISCUSS MY PROPOSAL BASED FROM THE INTEL SEMINAR I ATTENDED. ON THE FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH, I WILL COMPOSE AND SEND A LETTER ADDRESSED TO THE PARENTS ABOUT MY INITIAL ATTEMPTS TO USE MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS. LIKEWISE, I WILL PREPARE THE DRAFT OF THE MODERN ENGLISH COURIER AND DISTRIBUTE THE EDITED COPIES TO THE PARENTS BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH.

CONCLUSION THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PROGRAM- CONVERTING ENGLISH CLASSES FROM TRADITIONAL TO MODERN PICTURE, STUDENTS WILL BE GLOBALLY-COMPETITIVE AND BE MORE PROFICIENT IN THEIR CHOSEN FIELD. IN ADDITION, THE “CHARACTER AND COMPETENCE” WHICH THE UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN PROMOTING FOR MANY YEARS SINCE ITS ESTABLISHMENT IN 1907 WILL BE CARRIED OUT AMONG THE STUDENTS-THE FUTURE PROFESSIONALS.
