BIC Alternative Funding Sources CSEC National Science Foundation Perkins IV Base Grant Perkins Reserve Grant Center of Emphasis Lumina Grant involvement with accelerated degree and/or cohort programs DOL Consortium with Madisonville Community College and Ivy Tech for Industrial Technology Program (98% sure will receive) C3T DOL Grant attempt for Healthcare fields (including health informatics) Women in Tech STEM grant attempt working in conjunction with University of Memphis THEC grant involvement with PLA Taskforce (Prior Learning Assessment) initiative to streamline adult learners college credit.

  8. Technology Request Feedback Thank you for great feedback on our technology in the workplace survey. Common thread was we need as much training as possible in portable, mobile, Apple devices since all of you are using them in some form or fashion. With that information, we have requested a MAC lab in the 2012/13 college funded TAF program, have planned faculty development training on the latest mobile technology and have integrated more hands on lab work in the curriculums.

CIS Program 2011-12 Curriculum Updates CISP 1010 – Computer Science I, added math pre-req CIS 156, Principles Info Assurance – added to core curriculum replacing CIS 250, Network Security CIS 145 – Linux, added CIS 175 pre-req course CIS 226 – Windows Prof, added CIS 175 pre-req course CIS 250 – Network Security, added CIS 175 pre-req course CIS 270 – IT Technician– added note that this second part class must be taken within two years of taking CIS 170 (the first part). This sequence used to prepare students for A+ certification.
