  1. 15 things you probably don’t know about herbal products At some point or other, we all have used herbal health care products. And we know they’re good for us. Or, at least they’re way better than those products that are chemicals based. Herein this post, we’d like to walk you through things about herbal products that you may not know. So, here’s our list of 15 things that you probably don’t know about herbal products, their history, and usage. 1.Herbal health care products are made from the plants, herbs, and their extracts such as their roots, leaves, flowers, seeds, etc. 2.Herbs have been around for centuries. In fact, human beings were using them even before they took to recording things about their daily lives, and things that mattered to them. 3.From the Egyptians to Native Americans and Chinese to Babylonians, they all had great knowledge about Ayurvedic herbs and how they help treat disease and disorders. 4.In Mesopotamia, the written study of herbs dates back over 5,000 years to the Sumerians, who created clay tablets with lists of hundreds of medicinal plants (Source – Wikipedia). 5.In India, our ancient scriptures such as the Rig Veda and Atharva Veda contain a lot of information on herbs and their usages, which also formed the basis of the Ayurveda system in India. 6.Almost 80% of world population still relies on traditional medicines, estimates World Health Organisation (WHO). 7.Neem, Tulsi, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Sandal wood, Ginseng, Clove, and Flax Seeds are some of the most used herbs and plants in making herbal care products. 8.You’d be surprised to know that about 7000 compounds in the modern medicine are derived from herbs and plants.

  2. 9.Modern drugs or allopathic medicines have been around for a century or more, but human beings have been living plants and herbs for hundreds of thousands of years. 10.Germany is a country which favours herbal products a lot. In fact, one out of three medicines prescribed in Germany is an herb. 11.Herbs are trophorestorative, which means they gel well with our bodies and work at the deepest levels to help us recover and get our health and vitality back. 12.Our forefathers had a wealth of knowledge about Ayurvedic herbs and plants and the combinations that would work for common ailments such as cuts & bruises, fever, cold, as well as to address diseases and disorders like arthritis and memory loss. 13.Even today, millions of people in rural and urban India prefer herbal / natural products for their primary healthcare rather than opting for prescription drugs. 14.Herbal health care products are generally considered having no-side effects or minimal side-effects, since they are made from natural herbs and plant extracts. It is, however, important to know that taking a herb or herbal product against the suggested dosage might cause a problem. If you are taking a prescription or over-the-counter medicines, it is important that you first speak with your doctor before you take a herbal medicine or supplement. 15.In certain conditions, herbal medications are known to be more effective than other forms of medication such as allopathy.
