Pomgrad engineering Ltd. • Pomgrad engineering, the civil engineering contracting company based in Split, is the leading Croatian construction company specialized in marine and hydraulic works. • The establishment of Pomgrad at the beginning of the 1947. had been caused by the necessity of rebuilding the harbours damaged during the world war II, as well as by the need of building new ones, important for development of the Croatian economy. • In addition to the whole series of minor projects, Pomgrad has completely renewed the harbours of Rijeka, Šibenik, Split and Dubrovnik and constructed new harbours at Bar, Ploče, Split and Zadar, and also modernized, enlarged and dredged the ones previously repaired.

  4. Pomgrad engineering Ltd. • Since the year of 1952. Pomgrad has joined the international construction market and built new Port of Latakia/Syria, then Assab/Eritrea, Tartous/Syria, Secondi/Ghana, Limmasol/Cyprus, Flamingo Bay and Old Suakhin/Sudan, Chabahar/Iran etc. And has taken part in the extension and/or reconstruction of the ports of Bar/Montenegro and Port Sudan/Sudan. • Although Pomgrad has extended its activities to other fields of civil engineering, marine construction projects have remained its main speciallity. • For all such activities Pomgrad has at its disposal highly experienced staff and owns equipment.

  6. Pomgrad engineering Ltd. • Since its establishment Pomgrad has built dams Kazaginac/Bosnia & Herzegovina, Gračac/Croatia, Bou Hanifia/Algeria and achieved significiant results in housing projects and other structural engineering having completed a number of housing blocs and other structures.

Pomgrad engineering Ltd. today • In the year 2002 Pomgrad engineering Ltd. has been taken over by Montmontaža – Hidroinženjering company, and became member of Montmontaža group. • In the year 2008. Pomgrad engineering Ltd. together with Montmontaža Hidroengineering Ltd. have been taken over by Strabag SE group in 100% stake

  9. Strabag Hidroinženjering Ltd. (previously Montmontaža Hidroinženjering Ltd) • Montmontaža – Hidroinženjering was founded in 1996 in Split as a company specialized in marine and public utility construction management and marine construction design. • From its foundation to the present Montmontaža – Hidroinženjering has built numerous piers, marinas, water supply systems, quays and sewage systems. • Beside construction management, the design activities have a distinct position within the company trough the capabilities of our professional design team. • Since its establishment Montmontaža – Hidroinženjeringhas constantly growing and progressing. The biggest progress was happened in 2002 by taking over the company Pomgrad engineering. • With that purchase we took a big step forward and respectable system field with professionalism, experience and specifically floating equipmentwas founded.

  10. Strabag Hidroinženjering Ltd. (previously Montmontaža Hidroinženjering Ltd) • In the year 2004 Montmontaža – Hidroinženjering entered the international market by constructing Container terminal in the port of Durres in Albania, as one of the first Croatian companies that involving large infrastructure project in Albania. It’s attendance on international market is secured trough the constructing sewerage of city Tivat in Montenegro. • In the same year Pomgrad engineering has reenterad international market with a strong emphasis on the Algerian marine building market. • On all our projects in Croatia Montmontaža – Hidroinženjeringhas participated mainly as a main contractor together with Pomgradengineering as our exclusively subcontractor.

  11. Design Office • The company design office consists of an expert team of designers with extensive experience in the design of all kinds of marine structures. We can offers to clients a complete service ranging from preliminary studies to detailed drawings. Our design team of certified design engineers shall offer professional advice and is ready to satisfy all needs and requests of the clients.We have created more than 300 projects.

  23. Marinas and fishing ports • In the beginning of the ’80s Croatian tourist industry has undertaken an extensive development of sports nautics. Renowned for succesful execution of marine and other construction projects, Pomgrad was taking part in these, as well.

  37. Outfalls and environmental • During the last five years, we executed several submarine outfalls. The works on Stobreč outfall project included placing of 1000 mm diameter PEHD pipes, full length of 2500 m in a bottom trench excavated in a rock and sand material. • Sea outfall Stobreč is a part of Stobreč sewer system with main pumping station Šine and colectors. • During the year of 2003. Pomgradengineerig has built a sea outfall with pumping station Duilovo-Split in full lehgth of over 1900 m. • The most interesting was a project of Šibenik outfall in the year of 2004. which included 1200 mm diameter PEHD pipes, full length of over 5000 m with 406 m long diffuser. • Zadar submarine outfall also has a 1200 mm diameter and full length of near 1400 m.
