Geography, climate, and natural resources • How is their geography, Climate, and natural resources connected to their daily lives and jobs? • Italy is 301,230 square miles. • There land is slightly bigger than Arizona. • They two mountain regions, Alps and the Apennines. • There population is 116,305. • The Po river to the north holds some of Italy's richest farm land. • It affects there life and jobs because they have so much mountains and farm land that they can’t get to work. • They have a hard time going to work. • They don’t have any natural resources.

  3. Economic Data • What does the economic data reveal about there quality of life? They have a bad growth rate. • GDP growth rate is -2.3 • GDP per capita 30,100 • Unemployment rate 10.9 • Poverty rate 10% • Industries, tourism, chemicals, textiles, Clothing, and • shoes. • And their import partners are Germany, United States, • and Switzerland. • They are developed.

Culture • What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • For breakfast they have a cup of coffee and a croissant. • For lunch they have a sandwich. • And for dinner they have salad, pasta, and many cheeses. • They made pizza too. • They first started the Renaissance festival. • Italian is the official language. • They also invented Opera. • They have similar holidays as the Us. • Pulling down the eye lid is a sign of clevernessand that’s what makes their culture unique.

  5. We have relationships with Italy? • How has this effected the USA. • They both work in the NATO together. • It’s a treaty that states that they get along and not fight. • They are also import partners. Here is president Obama with the prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
