Founded by Hermann Sichel in 1857, Blue Nun quickly gained recognition in the UK, becoming a staple in top London hotels and restaurants. By the 1970s, it had sold 3.5 million bottles in the UK alone. In an effort to appeal to a broader market, Blue Nun has recently expanded its range to include Pinot Grigio, Rosé, and Merlot. The introduction of Blue Nun Gold in 2009, featuring real 22-carat gold flakes, targets young women looking for a wine that enhances special occasions.

Rebranding Recently Blue Nun have attempted to change their product. They’ve added wider selection of Blue Nun Wines to their range in an effort to appeal to a larger market. Including a Blue Nun Pinot Grigio, a Blue Nun Rosé and a Blue Nun Merlot.
Gold In 2009, Blue Nun released Blue Nun Gold. A wine with real 22 Carat Gold flakes floating in the wine hoping to appeal to young women drinkers. Blue Nun Gold claims to be: 'the perfect wine for celebrations and special occasions. For life's golden moments'
