(Phoenix; Houston; and Mobile, AL) • 600 FTEs & 750 PTEs (many seasonal); turnover rate up to 75%

Five Star Claim History: • “Wage and hour” class action claim – 350 housekeeping employees (California) alleged (1) lower pay due to national origin and (2) retaliation (they complained to California administrative enforcement agencies). The claim is pending. • Over 15 charges of discrimination filed (EEOC & state agencies) alleging (national origin, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment) resulting in only one lawsuit settled for $50,000. Five Star Hotels incurred $75,000 in legal fees and costs in defending the claim to a resolution. • Five Star’s prior EPL insurer has non-renewed for various “underwriting reasons.”
