Conferences Report (Feb’00) • See 1999/2000 Conferences Listing • New meetings • IEMT: new location, new partners • I-THERM: web site • EPEP share increases from 20% to 50% • POLY’99 and POLY 2000 (& Interpack) • www.asme.org/conf/ipack • IWIPP: now 50% share • IEMT Europe (??) • 15% surpluses

  3. 2000 Plans • Conference Chairs Meeting at ECTC • Web pages • Budget comprehensive audits • ECTC: more days/parallel sessions/split??? • International conference sponsorship • Virtual conferences: Presentations on web? • Partnerships strategy: take back admin • Merge like conferences (POLY/PEP)

  5. 2000 Meeting #2: ECTC • Increase size or shed something • Days/sessions • Manufacturing (IEMT), opto (co-locate) • Posters • Raise status (invited papers) • Social event • Publicity: trade journals/free booth • announcements, news • Paper selection • restructure cttees (retire some, TCs)? • Assign papers to ONE cttee (trades problem)
