Supporting Our Community Through YMCA: A Charity Dedicated to Helping Others

The YMCA is a charity committed to giving back to the community by providing essential services to those in need. Founded in 1844 by George Williams, its mission is to uplift individuals, helping take them off the streets and offering fitness areas for families. Our team, consisting of Cam’Ron Starks, Tyron Williams, and Jorge Ramirez, chose the YMCA for our project because of its impactful programs and community support. Throughout this project, we applied various math skills and learned rich historical insights about this vital organization.

  2. YMCA • THE NAME OF OUR CHARITY IS YMCA. • WHAT MAKES THIS A SUITABLE CHARITY, IS THAT THEY ALWAYS GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.

  3. JTC picked the YMCA, because they help take people off of the streets and provide a fitness area for many families.

  4. The YMCA was founded in 1844by a man named George Williams. He founded the YMCA to help keep young men off of the streets.

  9. Throughout this project, we used addition, subtraction, multiplication, and also division. To do this project we used a calculator to find big numbers and also a lot of scrap paper. We also learned about a lot of history of what we all like to call the “Y” (as in YMCA)
