The petitioner must petition for and agree to sponsor their family member. The Family-Based Immigration Beneficiary When a family immigration petition is submitted, the petitioner names a “Beneficiary”. The beneficiary must be a family member of the petitioner such as their parents, husband, wife, son or daughter.
