Recreation and Leisure • We’re excited about our new program! • Concentrations in: • Outdoor Recreation/Leadership • Natural Resource Recreation Management • Community Recreation • 120 total credits required • 8 credit Internship experience • Students are highly encouraged to find • paid internship positions • Students have done internships at great places! • -Acadia Mountain Guides -The Nature Conservancy • -Cook Inlet Wildlife Refuge -Gentile Hall

  20. Alumni GREG SHUTE Class of 1982 • After graduation, Greg worked at a nature center in New York state • He secured that position after his field work through UMPI • Currently, Greg works as the Director of WildernessPrograms for the Chewonki Foundation on the coast of Maine

TIM BAILEY Class of 1988 Alumni • Tim is currently the manager of Spinnaker Point Fitness Center for the City of Portsmouth. • Hehas been involved in: • New Hampshire Parks and Recreation Association • National Youth Sports Coaching Association • National Swimming Pool Foundation • National Recreation and Parks Association • Current Hobbies: • Men’s Basketball League • Golf • Watching his boys play sports

AMANDA MORIN Class of 2003 Alumni • Minor: Recreation • Since graduation, she has worked at the Chewonki Foundation as an Environmental Educator, Trip Leaderand Assistant Program Director for Environmental Education • One major contribution to her success • Experience with OAPI • Current Position • Asst.   24. Alumni • After graduation, Amelia took an internship with The Nature Conservancy as a Conservation Education Intern Amelia Cox Class of 2006 • In one day she sorted 72,000 scallops to place in their protected nursery as part of their restoration efforts in the Peconic Bay!

  25. Alumni • After graduation, Jason did his internship with The Marriot in Florida Jason Gardiner Class of 2007 • He know runs a Marina in Maine and just bought a house!
