Yes, the same aluminum foil that you use to pack your food or to line the drip can also be used for cleaning and making your home spick and span. Below, we have listed a few ways in which aluminum foil can be used to clean houses. ● Use it to remove rust: Aluminium is said to bring shine to the chrome and hence, it is highly effective at removing rust from old items and make them shine like new again. Start by cleaning the rusted surface with a fiber cloth dipped in soapy water. Now, take a piece of aluminum foil and dip it in plain water and start rubbing it gently on the area affected by rust. Soon you will notice the crumbs of rust getting removed. Repeat the process till you get satisfied and then apply polish on your item to prevent it from rust in the future. ● ● Use it to clean silverware: You can also use aluminum foil to get rid of the tarnish over silver items. All you need to do is line a glass baking dish with a sheet of aluminum foil with the shinning side facing up. Mix baking soda, sea salt and white vinegar in the dish. Add boiling water and place your silver item in the dish for 30 seconds to 3 minutes,
depending on the level of tarnish it is affected by. Using a tong, remove the item from the solution and clean it with a cloth. Prepare a fresh mixture and repeat the entire process if you see any additional patches of tarnish. ● Use it to clean grill: You should first of all heat the grill to let to burn as much caked-on residue as possible. Now, wait until the grill gets completely cool. Using a spray bottle, spray some good quantity of vinegar on the grate of the grill. At last, take a sheet of aluminum foil and crumple it into a ball and use it to rub on the grate of the grill to tear off all the waste. After you are done, rinse it off with water.
