World Turtle Day Celebration The tortoise rescue organization “American Tortoise rescue” (ATR) was first founded in 1990, it was non-profit organization that rescued and rehabilitated turtles and tortoise. It also created protecting atmosphere for these animals to live in. http://www.tortoise.com

  3. • May 23rd of every year the World turtle day is celebrated. The sole objective of this day is to celebrate these notable reptiles. ATR raised awareness, rescued and protected turtles and tortoises all around the world. http://www.tortoise.com

  4. • In 2000 it was formed to make people in general aware about the protection and rescue of turtle and tortoises. The tortoise lovers celebrate and enjoy the existence of these reptiles that bring joy to them. http://www.tortoise.com

  5. • Many people choose to donate money to ATR on this occasion. Some choose to volunteer to protect and rescue these endangered reptiles. Schools teach their student’s lessons about the tortoise and bring into their attention about this oldest creature. http://www.tortoise.com
