  2. Assignment 2 – Adding Style Aim: • To develop the layout and presentation of the basic portfolio website utilising the CSS skills we have learned up until this point. Deliverables: • Documentation: • Page Layout • A design outline (paragraph). • A homepage and at least 3 other pages • Working Navigation between the pages • Page layout and presentation implemented using an external stylesheet.

  3. Assignment 2 – Adding Style Must validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict at http://validator.w3.org/ You can validate the CSS at http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ No content needed! Deadline: Friday15th of November 2013 12pm. Save your pages to your www folder and mail me (Nina.Bresnihan@scss.tcd.ie) the URL of your assignment homepage along with the documentation. Do not overwrite your previous submission! Late submissions will be marked out of 5% less each day...

  4. Lab Exercise • With your structure of your skeleton portfolio in mind, it’s time to start laying out your pages. • Take 10/15 mins: • Decide what ‘blocks’ you need to display your content, navigation , etc... • Decide where on the page you want them. • Draw your page layout • Decide on widths, margins, etc...

  5. Lab Exercise • Get into pairs and • Take turns talking through your layout. Give/get feedback. • Work together to try to figure out how to get the layout you want with CSS. • When you’re happy, start to build a html page template and a CSS sylesheet for your site.
