  2. A legacy address is any address that was assigned prior to your assuming the role of address coordinator. Your predecessor gets the praise if it works You get the blame and responsibility to fix it if it is wrong You get the pain of living with it What are Legacy Addresses?

  6. Study what has been done in the past Policies-written or verbal Implementation of the policies Try to understand the “why” it was done the way it was done Talk to the people who implemented the policy and assigned the addresses to get insight Dealing with Legacy Addresses

  7. Study the current situation Identify the problems and issues Identify who and what is impacted by the issues Safety 9-1-1 Public access/location Decide if the issue requires a “fix” or a “work-around” Dealing with Legacy Addresses
