Users can resume from the previously accessed materials. Users can choose any unit to work on. Users get immediate feedback on their work. Users can add notes personalise their learning.

The 2 Course Levels The clear structure of the platform with the sections in each unit displayed at the top of the menu bar and the tasks at the bottom of the page allows for easy navigation which makes the user feel secure. Change slide The course has 2 levels: Basic user and Independent user. The chosen level is highlighted in red. The chosen unit is highlighted in red. The variety of the tasks and the presence of a large number of games makes the content enjoyable and enhances motivation.

  9. Course Structure Each language course has 10 units for each level covering the following sections: • In the Office • On the telephone • Correspondence • Internet • Grammar • Culture • and 4 types of follow-up activities : • Dialogue • Practice • Game • Simulation

  10. Structure of each unit The 6 sections of each unit, with chosen section highlighted in red. The 4 follow-up activities, with chosen activity highlighted in red.

Learning Objectives The learning objectives of each unit available at the beginning of the unit, worded as ‘can do’ statements (according to CEFR for levels A2 and B1 respectively).They give users a clear idea about what they can achieve by doing the activities in the units and help them self-assess their progress.

  13. Skills Activities on the platform aim at developing communicative language skills with main focus on reading, listening and writing in business environment. The large variety of letters offers useful models for business correspondence. • The dialogues and simulations in the sections “In the Office” and “On the Phone”, as well as the interactive practice provide useful models which can be then applied in real life situations.

Skills All through the course special attention is given to activities which aim at developing professional skills needed by office staff: elaborating different texts, using appropriate degrees of formality when interacting with different interlocutors, presenting relevant information about the company, designing a web page, using the Internet for professional purpose etc.

  16. Writing Users can receive personalised feedback for a number of tasks sent online to the tutors. Instructions for the writing task.

  17. Reading (“Culture” Section: Input) Relevant input for the activities based on Business Culture. Throughout the units there is an important stream focusing on aspects of corporate business culture: organisational structure, levels of formality, hierarchy, types of companies etc.

  19. Vocabulary There are numerous and diverse activities which focus on developing and practising specialised vocabulary in business. In addition new words and phrases are highlighted in red and the user has direct access to the Glossary on the platform.

  21. Grammar The grammar structures under focus in each unit are highlighted in blue and the user has direct access to the pages with clear explanations and relevant examples. Most models come from the business environment, which provides a real support for the user. The approach to grammar is communicative and the grammar aspects have been selected and adapted to everyday business communication. There are plenty of opportunities for the user to practise the new structures in context by doing the tasks in the Grammar Practice section.
