  7. Damp & Timber Surveyors in Essex - Why Should I Pay for a Report? Accurate diagnosis of damp and timber problems in buildings is essential to ensure appropriate remedies without unnecessary use of chemicals and undue expense. Anglian Preservation will charge a small fee for survey's and written reports. Companies that offer free survey's and reports, will usually send unqualified surveyors that are on commission. And the surveyor will look for work that isn't there. Anglian Preservation will deduct the surveyors' fee from our estimate if we are successful obtaining the work. If no work is required, then the fee is retained, which covers our costs. Anglian Preservation will normally charge between £45 and £80 per damp or timber survey. For this fee you will receive a comprehensive survey by a C.S.R.T. qualified surveyor (Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatment - a nationally recognised professional qualification within the industry) and a full detailed written report and plan.
