polycarbonates in particular Makrolon have kept on branching out
into new markets and applications.
Currently, the main fields of application are as follows:
Automotive engineering (in particular the use of blends for vehicle interiors and exteriors, and automotive glazing)
Construction (transparent polycarbonate sheet for roofing, conservatories, exhibition stands etc.)
Electrical / electronics (optical data storage media such as CDs, DVDs etc., housing materials for notebooks, copiers and LCD TVs etc.)
Sports and leisure (protective goggles, helmet visors etc.)
Medical technology (dialysis filters, ampoules, injection systems, operating theater equipment etc.)
Packaging industry (large water containers, bottles etc.)
