  2. Books Written J.R.R.Tolkien (Tol-keen) has written many books.One is The Hobbit. Another is The Lord of the Rings.

  3. What is he Famous For John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) is an author. He was twice professor of Anglo-Saxon. He was a major scholar of the English language specializing in Old and Middle English.

  4. Early Life His mother died of diabetes on October 15, 1904. He lived in poverty. He knew Latin, Greek, , and Finnish (whatever those last two are).

  5. Later Life He got a first-class college degree in June 1915. He married Edith Bratt on March 22, 1916. One of his books, The Book of Lost Tales, was published after he died. He was a storyteller.
