Boosting Watertourism in Vorpommern: Challenges and Solutions for Sustainable Growth

Vorpommern, a region of 7,957 km² with a population of 548,959, faces challenges in enhancing its watertourism sector. Dominated by agriculture, shipbuilding, and tourism, the area has significant potential, with 12 million overnight stays annually. However, issues like insufficient infrastructure, lack of marketing, and limited offers linking water and land tourism hinder growth. The project aims to implement effective watertourism strategies through cooperation between SMEs and communities, better marketing, and improved information systems to attract more sustainable tourism.
