  3. Selling pigs James Cash Penny bought and sold pigs and he also grew and sold watermelons. He was 8 years old.

  4. College and Business • James Cash Penny wanted to go to college so he could be a lawyer but he didn’t have enough money so he decided to work in a dry good store. • Then he bought a butcher shop with all of his money.

  5. Clothing store James Cash Penny took a job at a clothing store in Denver, Colorado.

  6. Jcpenny store opens!!! • 1. The JC Penny store opened April 14,1902. • 2. It only had one room. • 3. James Cash Penny named his store JC Penny. • 4. This store made him famous!
