  6. Grantseeking Statistics • Faculty and staff more active in seeking grants in last five years • Over the last two years, 100 proposals have been submitted to federal, state and private funding sources • 49 were funded =49% success rate • 47% federal, 10% state, 43% private

Helpful Tips • Explore the feasibility of your ideas/programs with colleagues and fit with University mission and strategic plan • Contact Sandy or Kathy when you have an idea or are planning to prepare a proposal • Research possible funding sources and become familiar with them (application cycles, deadlines, and requirements)

Helpful Tips • Allow sufficient time to prepare your proposal and budget • Allow ample time to get institutional approval, particularly for any commitment of University resources of any kind • Strictly follow the application guidelines • Use internal and external readers • Proofread, proofread, and proofread!
