  27. I have a brief understanding of where to start.

  28. I don’t think the CCS’s are much different than the GLCE’s.

  29. The new standards will encourage higher-level thinking which is what we are always aiming for in teaching.

  30. I agree that we need to all have common ground.

  31. I love high standards!

  32. I am excited and optimistic that other core subjects will be targeting important language art’s issues.

  33. I like that this is a national initiative.

  34. I am happy we are getting information now.

  35. Everyone will teach literacy (yeah!).

  36. I knew this was going to be helpful…we need to be globally competitive.

  37. I believe this will help improve test scores, make us globally competitive, and we need to get on board.

  38. This squares with my beliefs about PBL and UbyD and differentiated instruction.

  39. This aligns with my beliefs about needing higher-level thinking skills and project-based assessments.

  40. This is right in line with my belief that literacy skills are the key to ALL subjects.

  41. This is in line with my belief that we should all be teaching to the same (higher) standards and more hands-on, project based assessments.

  42. I have wanted to teach to the highest level for my grade level.

  43. This squares with what I already believed about the CCS being a great foundation and in depth at the K-1 level.

  44. I believe it is going to take some time, but less than it did with the GLCE’s.

  45. These standards are more “black and white” and less overwhelming than the GLCE’s!

  46. I’m a positive person and this is a positive move in the right direction!

  47. These higher expectations are needed for both the students and myself

  48. Cross-curricular literacy is the key to America’s success!

  49. College reading = Career reading (and we are not there yet)

  50. Cue-ing Instead of strand by strand
