  6. For Tenure Track: Faculty must have effort in all three emphasis areas of our UMMC mission*: Service Research Education One primary, two secondary emphasis areas: Example: Service primary, research and education secondary *based on IHL

  7. For Non-tenure track: Faculty must have effort in at least two areas of emphasis for the UMMC mission, one primary, one or more secondary. For example: Service primary and Education secondary Service primary and Research secondary

  10. Letters of recommendation or evaluation – who should you ask? • Need letters from 3 referees ( at least 2 external) • Should not have had a significant training, mentoring or collaborative relationship with the faculty member; can use someone from UMC as internal referee but have to have outside email address • Identify externals as early as possible, and initiate the request as soon as the CV is complete—letters due by October 15th, 2014. • APT Committee coordinator will send your CV , P&T guidelines and a form that asks the “relationship to the candidate” to the external reviewer along with the request letter
