  12. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. Acts 2.43-45

  13. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2.46-47

  18. What did being a Christian cost Stephan?

  19. What did being a Christian cost Paul?

  20. 9b I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12.9b-10

  21. 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Philippians 4.4

  23. Seeing the contrast…

  24. The New Testament concept of joy is based on purpose in existence.

  27. Our citizenship is in heaven.

  28. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3.20-21
