What is ConnecTech? • Connecting our Universities with an Integrated Information Environment • Joint endeavor by TTU and TTUHSC during the next three years • Large project to replace and upgrade our legacy administrative computer applications used by Students, Faculty, and Staff • TechSIS (Student and Financial Aid Systems) • TechFIM (Financial Accounting System) Purchased the “Banner” suite of products from SunGard Higher Education • TecHRIS (Human Resource System) • TechPAY (Payroll System) • Budget Systems • Purchased the “Banner” suite of products from SunGard Higher Education

  3. Why a Kick-Off for an Upgrade of Computer Applications? • Impacts every student, faculty and staff across the entire spectrum of Texas Tech • Avenue to provide awareness of the project • Largest project impacting business processes and computer applications at Texas Tech in 25 years

ConnecTech Benefits • Integrated web-enabled environment • Move from SSN to Banner ID for identification purposes • 24x7 access via the web for Students TechSIS (Student and Financial Aid Systems) • Access to information via a web interface from any internet connection • Alignment of business processes with digital workflow • Unified Financial Aid solution • Elimination of redundancy and duplication of information entry • Improved data for reporting and analysis of institutional information • Better reporting and data access strategies • Systems built upon modern relational database technology (Oracle) with contemporary hardware
